Oh, the depth of the riches
Of the wisdom and knowledge
Of God
How unsearchable are His judgements
and His ways past finding out

For who has known
The mind of the Lord
Or who has become
His counsellor
For who can repay Him
When all things belong to Him
No one, No one.

Totally You- AYA, Malaysia.

Indeed, how deep and wide and long is the love of God, and how unfathomable is His wisdom and counsel. His wisdom shames the wisdom of the wise and lifts up the heads of those who love Him and seek Him. I take so much comfort in knowing that He loves the simple things...that all we have to do is come before Him as ourselves and nothing more.
Jesus, i love You for everything You've been to me. Forgive me for the times i've doubted and questioned, because who am I to seek to understand EVERYTHING about God? Just as there are some things in this world that we cannot understand, You cannot totally be understood, simply because You are God Almighty, and those who live on this earth are mere mortals with finite minds. God teach me to accept that Your thoughts are higher than mine, and Your ways than my ways. I fall back on everything You've done for me, on the times when Your love overwhelmed me, on those quiet moments spent with You where such peace and joy reigned. Those things could not have been merely figments of my imagination, because they were so real; As real as the air i breathe.
Without You, there's no meaning to life. With You, i have everything i need, and more. I love You.

ok...let's go back to yesterday...:)
1 Chorinth 10:

v1- 10: Paul states that these are the things we should learn NOT to do from the Isrealites after they had been set free from Pharoah's reign:

Don't be an idolator
Don't commit sexual immorality
Don't test the Lord
Don't grumble

funny combination, but yes. i think all are very serious things in the eyes of the Lord. quite self-explanatory, i think.

v12: Always be vigilant! Like it or not, there is ALWAYS a chance for ANYONE to fall. Never believe that you are perfectly fine JUST where you are in your relationship with God. That's the first step towards complacency, and complacency is a wicked, subtle trap that causes many many Christians to backslide. ALways desire for more of His presence and His anointing, always be hungry to know Him in a deeper way, always spend time at His feet, always remember to balance out your life as He would want you to, ALWAYS confess to the Lord any wrongdoing, because hiding it will only cause you to shrink away from Him.

V20- 22: CHOOSE WHOM YOU WILL SERVE! don't be double minded! if you've chosen to serve idols, then go ahead and serve them. If you've chosen to serve the Lord, do it with all your might and heart and soul and strength. You can't serve two masters. God is a jealous God. Serving both idols and God is like having an affair with another woman or man when you are already married, and you know God's stand on adultery. Remember, don't test the Lord your God.

v23-24: It's permissible to ALWAYS seek your own good, but is it constructive? Does it build up your character?Does it open your eyes to see and ears to hear the cry of those in need? Does it bring you friends? Will that cause others to look up to you and honour and love God because of you?

v31-33: Do everything to God's glory. Paul has stressed this over and over again in his letters. Do this with sensitivity of heart, so that no one will stumble because of you. LIVE for others, that your actions may be beneficial and constructive. When you serve others, you are serving the Lord. WHat you do to those in need, you do to the Lord.

Lord Jesus, teach me to constantly watch my life and actions, because i'm human and i do make mistakes. Give me a sensitive heart to discern what is of You and what is not. Tell me if there's something not right in my life. This life really isn't much, but You created me for a purpose, and because of You, my life is worth so much more. If i live, it's because of You. So let me live every aspect of my life to You, and i give You full control. May everything i do glorify You. In Jesus' Name i pray, Amen.

ahhaha so funny...dad tried waking me up this morning to go for a jog with him...i just couldn't get up! oh poor dad...sigh...he couldn't go because he didn;t have a companion...i was just snoring away in my comfy bed...sigh...
anyway! today's 1st corinthians 9!

v1-18: RIGHTS. yes, everyone has rights. everyone deserves something in return for another. But Christ Himself gave up His rights to become the poorest of the poor, the humblest among people. what more ourselves? why argue about rights when we are called to preach the gospel? it's so much better to give than to receive. if asserting our rights causes others to stumble, then give those rights up. God is no debtor of persons. He already has a reward in heaven for a willing and humble heart that loves to do His will. After all, it was never CHrist's way to insist that His rights be met because of all He had done ( which is alot), because He knew His Father and He knew that His Father is just and fair in everything. Rather, He looked to the rights of others, and perhaps gave them far more than they deserved. Think about us placing others' needs above our own. what a powerful testimony. Remember that we are first and foremost called to serve the Lord and not ourselves. Now, HIS rights deserve to be met. how? by doing just that. by reaching out to bring in the lost. He has already redeemed us. now He has the right to tell us to "go and make disciples of all nations." We don't fulfill God's rights by fighting for our own.

v19-23: whether you choose to step out of your comfort zone or not is entirely up to you. becoming all things to all men does NOT entail indulging in the sinful practices that they are involved in. As paul said, he would become all things to all men in order to save some, but he DID also say that he is still under submission to Christ's law. Doing the sinful things that others are doing would completely tear down everything you set out to accomplish in the first place. what do others want to see in you as a Christian? i know that they absolutely do not want to see you doing what they're doing, because that kills their hope that you are different because of Jesus. rather, all they want is to see that you are totally different, that you can live without addiction, without having to succumb to temptation, without having to hide your feelings by indulging in sinful practices, because Jesus has changed you. they want to see an upright person who UNDERSTANDS why they do what they do, and who can offer them a far better solution- Jesus Christ. Remember that Christianity is a practical thing. Not everyone receives the gospel in the same way, and Paul knows that. Let's be sensitive to different cultures. If we are to go and make disciples of all nations, let's strive to understand them first, before charging in and shoving the gospel down the wrong way. Share the gospel in a manner they understand best. Take away every hint of pride. show that you care enough to have understood them before sharing His word to them. God is not asking us to get involved in the bad things to save the lost, because in Psalm 1 He has already clearly stated that we are not to walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. but this doesn't mean we can't love the person inside.

v24-27: HAVE AN AIM IN LIFE. Ask God if you have no idea why He placed you on this earth. All true christians have an aim, and that is to see Jesus face to face one day after He calls us home to Him. so don't walk the Christian walk simply to escape hell's flame, because then you WILL be an aimless runner in life's race. how do you win the crown of righteousness if all you do is run without knowing where you're running to, but only what you're running from? Rather, run AIMING to reach out to others, aiming to know Him more, aiming to give of yourself so that others might be won to Christ. Run with purpose, always setting your eyes on that one Finish Line, Jesus Christ. how do you run a good race? WALK YOUR TALK.

V26-27:Therefore i do not run like a man running aimlessly; i do not fight like a man beating the air. No, i beat my body and make it my slave so that after i have preached to others, i myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

oooh... another lovely morning...let's see... yesterday i did 1 corinth.7. it was on MARRIAGE, so i didn't really get much out of the whole thing, but one verse stood out and struck me hard as a very important reminder:
v 31:"...for this world in its present form is passing away."
what a good reminder that we have to CONSTANTLY glance at things and gaze at God. in a turbulent world, especially in the chaotic end times, it's so important to cling on tight to the Solid Rock. How do we do that? through spending time in quietness before Him. i know i've been like...harping on quiet time, quiet time, quiet time, but really, considering it all, QT is the most important thing in a Christian's walk with Christ. God places it above ministry, above missions, above everything else, because it is the FOUNDATION of who we are in Christ. if the foundations are weak, everything we build upon those foundations will likely collapse when the storm comes our way. and storms will come. uncertainty will come. doubt will come. because the world is always changing and therefore facts are always changing. But the TRUTH will never ever change. we need to dig into it, get it into our hearts, live it, share it.only then can we be so secure in changing times, because all our hope and trust is in the Unchanging, ever-faithful One.

1 Corinthians 8
V1: Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
- everytime we exalt our own knowledge,(including head knowledge of the word of God) we exalt ourselves. OUR intelligence. OUR wisdom. OUR understanding. But when we LOVE GOd,(the "action" of love, including worshipping HIm and spending time with Him) we exalt HIM. and in exalting Him, we build ourselves up by following in HIS footsteps and encouraging others to do so too.

v8: but food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
- speaks of religion i guess. following religious practices will not bring us nearer to God. what;s important is what happens in secret, when we are alone with Him.

V9: be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
-never do anything that will cause your brother to fall. Look at Jesus. He could have been King of the World. He is God after all. but He set a good example to His followers by becoming the meekest of men, humbling Himself and choosing to serve rather than be served. what more we? if anything i do becomes a stumbling block to others and an obstacle between them and God, God forbid that i do those things.

Dear Lord, give me a sensitive heart to perceive what is right and what is not. i thank You for the freedom You have given me, that i don't have to be bound any longer by religion and fearful routine, but that i can be free because of the ransom You paid. Yet keep my freedom in check that i might truly be free to do Your will. Let me be a stepping stone and not a stumbling block. Cause me to WANT to do good, not out of religious practice, but out of a desire to please and exalt the One who redeemed me. Amen.

haha...went for a good jog this morning...it was beautiful...was up at 6 am and the sunrise was just glorious...all the clouds were pink and purple, and as the sun rose, some started glowing yellow...it was just...heavenly.
and i was just reminded again of God's promises that are new every morning. how wonderful to know that He always has something fresh for each new day. how wonderful to know that He always watches over us and is so concerned with our lives, that He never leaves us nor forsakes us and is always interested in us. the rising sun is already a symbol of the gift of life from God, and of His constant love and care and providence. God i praise You for the wonderful works of Your hands, and for Your everlasting faithfulness and love...

Every new day
Your glory unfolds
filling my eyes
with Your treasures untold
The beauty of holiness
Brings worship anew
My greatest Love is You

Call me deeper
Into Your grace
The river that flows
From the Holy Place
Wash over me
Cleansing me through
My greatest Love is You...
